Addicted 03:30
Call me crazy but I think I may be Addicted to you and I don’t wanna pull through Even though you hurt me I know nobody’s perfect But I can’t get enough of your kind of love And I don’t wanna call for help ‘Cause I need you and no one else You’re the rain that made the flood Wouldn’t shelter if I could You’re every breath in my lungs You’re the poison in my blood I’m under the influence, you’re under my skin I know I should fight it but I’m caving in They say you’re no good for me but what can I do? I’m head over heels, I’m addicted to you People tell me that I’ll wind up lonely If I don’t walk away but I’m here to stay Because it’s my decision but they won’t listen If they only knew what I do They would never call for help ‘Cause I need you and no one else You’re the only thing I crave Ain’t no substitute for pain You’re running round in every vein And I’m the only one to blame I’m under the influence, you’re under my skin I know I should fight it but I’m caving in They say you’re no good for me but what can I do? I’m head over heels, I’m addicted to you Maybe in the future I’ll be stone cold sober My vision would be clearer but I know I’ll still see You right next to me I’m under the influence, you’re under my skin I know I should fight it but I’m caving in They say you’re no good for me but what can I do? I’m head over heels, I’m addicted to you I’m under the influence, you’re under my skin I know I should fight it but I’m caving in They say you’re no good for me but what can I do? I’m head over heels, I’m addicted to you

Bad Advice 03:25
I met a man at the bar who’s hidden all his life The multi-coloured flag he flew before he found a wife Now he’s daring to be brave since he severed ball from chain And be the man his father fears ‘cause he was just the same There’s a woman on the phone desperate to be heard But the protest in her mother’s tone means she can’t get in a word She’s trying to convince her she’ll live to regret Not listening to her body clock, as if she could forget Maybe you should leave her alone You know all he wants in your pride Don’t tell them what to do if you’re not in their shoes ‘Cause that’s bad advice Imperious people just care less about the room Living this vicarious life through another view They say “it’s ‘cause we care and it’s just for your own good” But it’s funny how we’ve figured out we’re living like we should Maybe you should leave her alone You know all he wants in your pride Don’t tell them what to do if you’re not in their shoes ‘Cause that’s bad advice Maybe you should leave her alone You know all he wants is your pride Maybe you should leave her alone Maybe you should leave her alone You know all he wants in your pride Don’t tell them what to do if you’re not in their shoes ‘Cause that’s bad advice Maybe you should leave her alone You know all he wants in your pride Don’t tell them what to do if you’re not in their shoes ‘Cause that’s bad advice

Step By Step 03:48
We’re so slo-mo we might as well be standing still Don’t bother me ‘cause I got time to kill I’ll give you the space you need and then some more to spare So put your hand in my hand ‘cause I ain’t going anywhere Step by step I bet you that it won’t be too long till you find your feet Brick by brick you’re building up to everything that you could be I know the road is rough and winding and you got stones in your shoes But step by step you’re walking back to where I met you Your poor heart took a mighty heavy blow How it kept beating, I guess I’ll never know Must be that strong constitution that won’t give up the fight Even in your darkest hour you’re still the one guiding the light Step by step I bet you that it won’t be too long till you find your feet Brick by brick you’re building up to everything that you could be I know the road is rough and winding and you got stones in your shoes But step by step you’re walking back to where I met you Step by step I bet you that it won’t be too long till you find your feet Brick by brick you’re building up to everything that you could be I know the road is rough and winding and you got stones in your shoes But step by step you’re walking back to me And I’ll be waiting Tell me what you need Step by step you’re coming back to where I met you

The closer I get to the light at the end of the tunnel The more I can see what hid behind me all the while Illuminate the fear and the pain now it’s mellowed ‘Cause time has a way of healing today’s tomorrow’s I wish that I could surrender But who would I be if I did? I just need one moment of courage There’s only me left to forgive So let me let go Let me let go ‘Cause I’ll never know Until I give up control So let me let go To hold on to hope at the end of the rope is so boring There must be a way to untangle the day without yawning But this morning felt so unfamiliar Must have rolled out the right side of bed ‘Cause I didn’t notice the daemons Who tried to raise hell in my head So let me let go Let me let go ‘Cause I’ll never know Until I give up control So let me let go Let me let go ‘Cause I’ll never know Until I give up control So let me let go Let me let go ‘Cause I’ll never know Until I give up control So let me let

It’s time we said goodbye We tried to make it right But it’s time we said goodbye And leave this place behind You were just what I needed Just when I needed it You know I came alive when you came along Was it luck? Was it reason? I was stuck, needed freedom You know you gave me what made me who I was It’s time we said goodbye We tried to make it right But it’s time we said goodbye And leave this place behind Didn’t stop, we were living We were high on believing But it was never forever for me and you This is tough, it’s not easy But I’m gone, yeah I’m leaving Memories making it hard for me to go It’s time we said goodbye We tried to make it right But it’s time we said goodbye And leave this place behind It’s time We tried It’s time We said goodbye You can cry because it’s over But smile for what it was You know it’s time Time we said goodbye

You offered me your weight in gold That ain’t no mardi gras Enough that I could share the load But that won’t get me far I don’t mean to be ungrateful But it’s not enough for me ‘Cause I’m trying to live each moment And I think that’s what I need You promised me an easy life (Aint no mardi gras) But I must admit I can’t deny (You’ve wondered from afar) What it must be like To live a life with money left to burn But I know myself and I know I love The things I’ve had to earn Ain’t no mardi gras (Ain’t no mardi gras) Ain’t no mardi gras (Ain’t no mardi gras) Hold on to who you are Only you can hear your heart You’re the perfect gentleman (Ain’t no mardi gras) Only a fool would decline your hand (But you know who you are) But I’m wary of the flawless From a high-rise point of view ‘Cause we’re all a little crazy And baby that’s the truth Ain’t no mardi gras (Ain’t no mardi gras) Ain’t no mardi gras (Ain’t no mardi gras) Hold on to who you are Only you can hear You wanna buy a family home (Aint no mardi gras) Somewhere where we’ll be all alone (Just say au revoir) But a bird sure gets lonely When it only hears one voice So we gotta get together And join the joyful noise Now that’s my mardi gras (That’s my mardi gras) That’s my mardi gras (That’s my mardi gras) Now the parade can start ‘Cause I’m almost there Following my heart Ain’t no mardi gras (Ain’t no mardi gras) Ain’t no mardi gras (Ain’t no mardi gras) Hold on to who you are Only you can hear your heart

Trying 03:39
Lately I’ve been in a battle with my body It’s not doing what I want it to do Lately I’m getting the feeling that nobody Understands what I’m going through People think What they say Is empathy But fail to notice That pity leaves bruises What gives you the right Right to decide My stage of life? It’s none of your business I don’t have the choice you have Do you ever think about that? The truth is It’s for no lack of trying, trying trying Trying, trying trying Everyday is getting harder to remember Who I was before I knew what I know Yeah the plans I had ain’t easy to surrender But freedom lies in letting them go When time complains Minds can change And that’s ok The less that you listen The more that you’re missing What gives you the right Right to decide My stage of life? It’s none of your business I don’t have the choice you have Do you ever think about that? The truth is It’s for no lack of trying, trying trying Trying, trying trying Trying, trying, trying Trying, trying, trying Just ‘cause you got opinions Don’t mean we need to hear them What gives you the right Right to decide My stage of life? I don’t have the choice you have Do you ever think about that? What gives you the right Right to decide My stage of life? It’s none of your business I don’t have the choice you have Do you ever think about that? The truth is It’s for no lack of trying, trying trying Trying, trying trying Everyone’s trying, trying, trying And believe me I’m trying Now you know when you see me you know I’m trying Now you know when you see me you know I’m trying

Gonna pick up Frank about 8pm ‘Cause we’re heading to the NBT Telling stories in the car of the double neck guitar That he ordered back in ‘63 Yeah the place is packed, gotta make me a path Through the bodies just to get to the stage There’s a young man with The Old Boy And he can play it pretty good for his age Saturday night at the NBT This rhythm and blues is good for me I’ll have a pint with head, I want nothing instead ‘Cause I’m here to have a Northern time Wednesday play tomorrow and I’ll be full of sorrow So I’m having me some fun tonight He’s just started up playing Louisiana And he’s putting on a hell of a show Drinking barley wine, he’ll have a hell of a time ‘Till the landlord says it’s time to go Saturday night at the NBT This beer and blues is good for me Rattle that pan and give what you can To the boys who are playing it loud ‘Cause playing the blues s’not something you choose It’s a calling that you can’t turn down Go Go Frankie on the mystery train Now you’re heading for your promised land We’re gonna keep on rocking, you won’t be forgotten ‘Cause this city is your biggest fan Saturday night at the NBT This rhythm and blues is good for me Saturday night at the NBT This beer and blues is good for me

It’s been a long time but it’s about time That I start doing right for myself Been such a long time but it’s about time That I finally find a way to break the spell I can’t blame anyone anymore for the shape I’m in And I can’t go on making excuses for never believing I’ll put things right if you can hold on I know that life won’t wait for no one But baby please won’t you wait for me? It’s been a long time but it’s about time That I start doing right for myself I don’t wanna live this way anymore with a restless mind I quit walking through open doors for fear of what I’d find But I’m breaking the mould, I’m not second guessing Now that I know just what I’ve been missing So baby please, won’t you wait for me? It’s been a long time but it’s about time That I start doing right I start doing right That I start doing right for myself

Frequency 03:54
I’m wide awake All I can hear is the tick tock Of the grandfather clock While you’re flicking through dreams Like cable TV Trying to find me So we can be back together Doesn’t matter whether It feels like forever I still hear you call my name Even from miles away ‘Cause we’ve got a frequency You’re tuning in to me And if you’re listening carefully You’ll hear my reply Riding a wave in the sky Times I recall Like flickering bulbs on the street lamps The fun that we had Riding old carousels Just for the hell of it Round and round We’ll keep spinning forever So it doesn’t matter If we’re not together ‘Cause I got these memories So I’m in good company ‘Cause we’ve got a frequency You’re tuning in to me And if you’re listening carefully You’ll hear my reply Riding a wave in the sky You’re tuning in to me And if you’re listening carefully You’ll hear my reply Riding a wave in the sky

about

My long awaited second album ‘Honestly’ is the perfect evolution, effortlessly merging Soul and Classic R&B with Blues and Gospel. After Frank White [Sheffield Blues legend and mentor] died, Nick and I went back to our roots and decided to scratch that Blues/Gospel itch that Frank had given us a taste for. Hopefully we’ve created something that he’d be proud of.
